What is Cru about?

Changed Lives. 

“I have been crucified with Christ  and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.   The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,  who loved me  and gave himself for me. ” Galatians 2:20

When we truly experience the real life found in Christ, it’s like nothing else.  We ultimately must let Him ‘take the wheel’ to get there. And Cru is full of real life stories of this challenging, but ultimately joyful process (with many–make that all– in progress).

That’s what we want every U of M student to be able to say… that they have found real life in Christ.

And of course it happens within personal, authentic, Spirit-filled community.

We’re an on-campus movement trusting God for big things together, and we attend different multi-generational churches. 

A little more about us: Cru (the name of Campus Crusade for Christ in the U.S.) is an Interdenominational Christian movement (with a presence on 3500 campuses and in 180+ countries) committed to helping people know God in Jesus Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and make an impact on our world for Christ.

We’re not a group just for Christians, but a movement engaging with our campus in honest dialogue about life’s questions, real answers, and what it means for our daily lives.  No matter where you are on the journey—skeptical, exploring,  or looking to grow in your faith in Jesus—we’re a community here for you!

Our Beliefs

We believe that God has revealed himself to us though his Word, the Bible, which allows us to know who he is and what he desires of us. We also believe that Jesus Christ is God who came to earth as a man to sacrifice himself that we might live with him forever.

Our History

Cru has existed on the U of M Campus since the late 1960s.  Over the last 40+ years, God has changed many lives through this ministry and set many free from the lies, wounds, or addictions that held them captive.

Cru today exists within the context of the Christian community at U of M as a place for authentic, deep, life-changing relationships with people & with Jesus Christ.  We like to think we’re like that restaurant only the locals know about: Personal (where everybody knows your name), fun… and unique.
